Company
Title: Company
Author: MC
Characters: Kazuki Komon, Ultraman Nexus, Jun Himeya
Warnings: None
Summary/Description:
Komon finds a lone Ultraman and decides to keep him company.
It was the lunch period, and Komon just gotten his tray from the counter.
Usually Komon would be with his fellow team-mates, chatting along about their lives, their families, and recent events at this hour. But today, most of them went off on patrol duty, so he was on his own. Not that he minded, it seemed nice to have a bit of peace for himself for a change.
But as he was about to reach for the table, he spotted something out of the corner of his eye. A silver-bodied Ultraman sat alone on a table and gazing at the view of the outside world through the large window next to him. He's never seen that Ultraman before.
Komon looked around at first, wondering if there was anyone else would come up to the lone Ultraman. While it wasn't unusual to see an Ultraman walking around within this facility, it seemed rare for Komon to find one not only alone (as they tend to be with their Navigators most of the time), but inside the cafeteria of all places... Which made him wonder whether or not an Ultraman can eat...
Well, if he wanted to get the answers, he may as well give that Ultraman company.
"Hey."
The Ultraman turned around, finding Komon now seated next to him.
"Where's your Navigator?"
He doesn't seem to respond, though Komon figured the Ultra may have not the ability to communicate verbally like some others.
"Um... Are you hungry? Here, you can have this-"
Komon offered the Ultraman a piece of his sandwich. The alien stared at it for a bit before taking it from his hands. The Ultra then tilted his head, eyes on the food on his hand.
"...You can eat, can you?"
And he responded by gazing at Komon with his large glowing eyes. Komon wondered if he was trying to tell him something. But before Komon could ask once more...
"There you are, Nexus!"
An older man in a leather jacket suddenly approached the table and expressed his annoyance at the alien as he scratched the back of his head.
"You could have just stayed and waited outside the hall instead. The meeting didn't take that long."
After letting out a huge sigh, he then turned to Komon. The latter figured that man must be his Navigator.
"He didn't cause any trouble to you, didn't he?"
"Not at all..." Komon replied and shook his head.
Soon the Ultraman left his seat and followed behind his Navigator as they both left the cafeteria. While he didn't seem to get all the answers, to Komon he was... actually glad to have met an Ultraman this up close.
"Nexus... huh?"
Maybe the next time they meet, he'd like to get to know the Ultraman a bit more.
As they walked, Himeya noticed the sandwich on the Ultra's hand.
"Did he gave you that?"
Nexus quietly handed over one half of the sandwich to his Navigator.
"Thanks. But who was he, by the way? Do you know him?"
...
"...I see. I'm sure he'll be a great Navigator for you."
