Summary/Description:
Daichi has doubts being partners with X.
Daichi never believed he'd become partners with an Ultraman. He had always thought someone like Asuna, Hayate or Wataru would be chosen. What use would he be if his Ultraman decided to fuse with him and head out into the field? Those thoughts plagued him further when X had revealed himself to him.
"X, are you sure you made the right choice?" Daichi questioned while lifting up his communicator. He stared as his partner let out a faint glow through the screen as he spoke.
"I know I've made the right choice when I chose you. I'm sure even you felt what I did, Daichi."
"...still I'm not that strong like the others. There's plenty of others who can both navigate and fight with you."
"Daichi..." A faint, bluish glow left from the screen of the communicator. The silence between them stretched making it unbearable for Daichi to maintain eye contact with his partner. His gaze lowered before he heard X speak. "I too am not that unique compared to my fellow Ultraman."
"...what? But, you're amazing X!" Immediately Daichi's lifting his communicator up high with his gaze following. "I couldn't ask for a better partner. You're always there for me, and I..."
He could feel his words stuck in his through, and his chest feeling constrained. There was just too much he wanted to tell X but none of his thoughts were forming into coherent strings of words. In response the screen is glowing bright once more. It almost felt like X was smiling to Daichi.
"It's not about our physical strength, Daichi. It's about our bond. There are things I cannot do without you. Wouldn't you say it's the same for yourself?"
X's words rang true to Daichi as he stared at the glowing screen before his eyes. He always had friends and coworkers here who reached out to him, and helped him get this far. Even after losing his parents he hadn't been alone. He had Gomora there with him. Now...now he also had X.
His eyes softened with his lips curving up into a smile.
"You're right. Thank you, X."
